Lima Peru – Day 3

The beach is very popular for surfers

Had a bright and early start, another 5 am wake up call. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to these early mornings. Our trip to the airport and flight went off without a hitch. Royal has been so organized and has a great team to keep us safe and happy.

This mosaic type artwork flowed through the park

When we arrived into Lima, we were bussed back to the ship to freshen up and get ready for a 2:30 departure to Lima for an all day/evening complimentary city tour and more food and entertainment.

The Lovers

We visited a mall called Larcomar, mostly outdoors and 3 levels. we wandered around the shops and bought us a bubble tea to cool off. It’s the first time Chuck has had one. Very good. The view from the mall showed us surfers and the sandy beach which had an interesting design and lots of foam, I’m assuming from so much salt in the water made was interesting That didn’t stop the surfers that come from all over the world to surf here.

We didn’t realize we were supposed to have a quick kiss in front of the statue!
Fishing boats on the ready

We moved on to the Love park. It was named on Feb 14 to celebrate Love. There’s even a huge statue of lovers in the middle of the two kissing. Apparently you’re supposed to kiss in front of the statue for good luck. We didn’t realize it so no luck for us! 😂

The Love park
We caught a parachute coming down. Very cool.

There was a flowing mosaic stone wall wrapping around the park area. It was inspired by Gaudi. I think it lives up to the name.

The park is called Magical Water Circuit
Beautiful water colors

Before dinner we were treated to a water show at parque de la Reserva. They call it a magic water show. 13 different water fountains with colorful water dancing and changing. Very beautiful.

The show was projected on the sprays of water
More projections

The big event was a projection onto sprays of water. It told a story of the history of Peru and the Incas in Spanish. Although we weren’t understanding it, watching the show carefully you could follow along when the war started and ended with the videos. It was really beautiful and interesting.

Some Peruvian style windows

At the show we were about 5 layers deep watching but we were able to see as much as possible and really enjoyed it.

We got wet but wasn’t supposed to.

At the end we had another Peruvian dinner. It was pretty good and served family style. Of course dessert was the best part!

Rice, Chicken, Fries, corn and sweet potatoes and regular potatoes

Royal stayed in Peru an extra day to give us time to explore Lima and this was another great way of showing their loyalty to us.

Dessert was the best, rice pudding, blackberry covered peaches and those famous Peruvian donuts!

It was nice to sleep in our own bed after traveling so much, as well as the different altitude changes. We slept until the noon the next day.

It took two rooms to hold all the World Cruisers for dinner

Our next stop is Puntarenas Costa Rica.

May God bless you always.

Chuck and Lea Ann
