We finally have the final numbers for our Spain trip. I have detailed everything and converted from Euros to US dollars. Some of the conversions are a little off since the state of the Euro changes so frequently and some of this was paid in advance. We went over budget by $600. However, $438 was for my little hospital visit! In my budgeting, we found many items we didn’t think about budgeting for, such as entertainment, additional transportation, other than cab from the airport and back, and our internet usage. Sure we have wireless while in the holiday/vacation home but not while out and about. We use our maps a lot when walking or driving so we can find our way back to the holiday home. I need to remember to use the offline maps more frequently. All in all, I think we did pretty good for our first month. This does not include the cruise so transportation to Spain is not included. Didn’t realize we could live in Spain for 30 days for less than $3500. I’ll revise our budget to include items I didn’t have for Spain on future locations.
As we move from one location to another, I’ll post our final results so anyone that thinks they want to try this type of adventure can see what you can do on a budget! Also, remember, we don’t own a home or cars so this is what we would be living on in the states as well. This is living!
