Pigeons, Beach, Another Cruise

Benalmadena Beach

Yesterday while we were at the Santa Domingo church, we watched a man feeding some pigeons. Everyone here feeds pigeons. No joke! They were fat and healthy for sure. We noticed two different types. The larger bluish gray pigeons were cooing and ruffled their feathers a little and prancing around the brownish red, smaller pigeon. They were doing a courting dance! It was really cool. By the time I got my camera ready, the dance was over. Chuck said I couldn’t video it anyway since it may be considered pigeon porn! 😂

Sunbathers enjoying the beach

Today was beach day!! We rented an umbrella with two comfy chairs and stayed at the beach all day. The ocean sounds are so soothing and always put me to sleep pretty quick! We strolled out to the water and walked around in the clear blue sea. It was so beautiful! The sand was hot and more gritty than the soft sandy beaches in Florida.

One of our favorite places to be!

We took the bus with our beach bag in tow. We had to use the towels in the apartment. They didn’t have beach towels and we weren’t buying more. Bought two bottled waters for 60 cent (euros) each. Had to top off our bus pass because we used it quite a bit getting around yesterday so it was low.

Not much excitement other than the beach however, I did book another cruise. It leaves Tokyo on May 8th, 2021 and arrives in Vancouver 14 days later. We’ll cruise through Russia and Alaska along the trip. We took this particular cruise for 2 reasons, one was the unbelievable price and 2nd because it was on a particular ship we’ve been wanting to cruise on. Its Royal Caribbeans Ovation. It has amazing features, is fairly new and we have been wanting to cruise on that class for awhile now. Our only dilemma is a quick trip to get there. We debark in Hawaii after a 19 day cruise from Sydney, Australia on May 5th. The trip will take a full day (overnight) so we’ll get there the 6th or 7th and then we embark on the next cruise on the 8th. Wont leave us much wiggle room for travel delays and another concern is we really wanted to get some laundry done since we are coming off the ship for 19 days. It’ll all work out, we are sure! If it doesn’t, we’ll compromise in some way. We are learning that very quickly.

We could live here and be beach bums!

Have a great day and may God bless you all!

  1. It might have a little to do with my camera and the file format but they are pretty and blue and the clouds make such amazing patterns. It's a point and shoot. I miss my Canon.
