Family is important, more birthday celebration,

First of all, great news, you can now see or itinerary any time without having to search for it. Its at the top left of the page. Just click on that link and you’ll be able to see where we are going to be at any time. As we start the second year, I’ll add another link but that will be a few months.

It has always been drilled into my head the importance of family by my mom & dad but especially my dad.

Chuck and I with 4 of my brothers, Bud, Lonnie & Susan, Joe & Debbie,  Thomas & Pixie.
I remember his desire to have Sunday afternoon dinner with the family, Christmas gatherings with lots of fruit and nuts (his favorite) and the reunions. Now that both my parents are in their forever home and blissfully happy (I choose to believe that), it is always nice to spend time with my brothers and their families. I miss being close to family and being able to just drop in and visit any time. It’s been many years since I’ve been able to do that. We all go on with our busy lives and tend to think someday, we’ll get together again. What if that someday doesn’t come again? Today, I would normally be spending my birthday weekend with my mother in law, who passed away almost two months ago. Since we moved to Virginia in 2002, I celebrated my birthdays with her as much as possible. She would have been 90 years old April 13! What a long life she lived. My sweet family made up for that and had a “Whataburger” cake made for me.

The numbers on the cake show “75” vs. my real age of “57”. My family. Gotta love them!

For those of you who have never experienced a Whataburger hamburger, they are salty with onions and mustard. Each trip I made to Texas since I left, my first stop was at Whataburger to get lunch/dinner. It’s actually just in the Whataburger orange colors but it was a nice surprise. Yes, I LOVE Whataburger hamburgers!

Amazing dinner with family!

We had the most wonderful time adding more memories for us to reminisce on in later years with our children, grandchildren and extended family. Laughter, because my brothers are always trying to be funny, hugs and lots of food are what makes these family gatherings so memorable. I’ll always cherish them no matter where we are. Dad would have been proud!

We are now on our way to Fort Worth, Texas to see more family. It’s been storming and pouring all night and throughout our entire trip. It’ll be nice to get to our destination and out of this nerve racking traffic!

May God bless you all.

Chuck & Lea Ann
