Today, September 6, 4 days left on our journey, we are on the beautiful island of Bermuda. This British Overseas Territory is known for its stunning pink sand beaches and crystal-clear waters.

A tiny island paradise in the Atlantic Ocean, it has a a little history. Originally settled by the British in the 17th century, the island’s population today reflects its rich cultural heritage. While the majority of Bermudians have African ancestry, there’s also a sizable white community. This unique blend of British and West African influences has shaped Bermuda’s distinct culture, making it a truly special place to visit.

After a beautiful ferry ride to the other side of the island gazing at the colorful pastel homes, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful. We chose this restaurant, Lobster Pot, because it is the sister restaurant from one we eat at in Dunedin. How cool is that?

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting a local jewelry store. Bermuda is famous for its pink sand jewelry, and I couldn’t resist purchasing a beautiful necklace for my collection.

As our time on the island came to an end, we boarded the ship and said goodbye to a beautiful paradise.

Before dinner we began the process of finalizing our packing. With 14 bags of luggage between us, it was a bit of a challenge! And we only have a few days to finish. We had to purchase another large suitcase and two duffle bags from Royal Caribbeans shop, but we managed to get everything packed with the exception of a few days of clothes for our journey home.

We had our normal dinner with our friends but found it difficult to just hop up and return to our cabin as normal, instead we wanted to visit as long as we could before that gift came to an end.

We will have some parties over the next few days to include one on Royal Caribbeans private island. The president of Royal joined the ship today so we have 4 days of activities planned for our homecoming.
This afternoon they had a drone fly over the ship and take an aerial photo of all 600 world cruisers around the pool.
More to come about our special homecoming and activities!
May God bless you always!
