We new this day was coming and now its here. Due to the unrest in the Red Sea, our cruise is being rerouted. Guess where? We cant take the shortcut through the Suez canal so we are going to AFRICA!
Chuck and I both are excited about this news. Africa was the one country on our bucket list that we were not going to visit during this cruise. But now thats changed! We will give up all but one island of the Greek Isles cruise and we will not be visiting one or two of the World Wonders. Petra is located in Jordan we again due to the unrest we cant get to that part of the world safely. If we choose option 2, we still have a chance to see Safaga Egypt where the Sphynx is but that is still a 50% chance we wont make it there.
Royal has actually done something unprecedented. They are giving us, the world cruisers the choice between two different cruise routes. Read it over and decide which would you choose? We have made our choice.
Option 1 is immersing us in the Africa and option 2 is Africa and Greece. We just visited all of the Greek islands last year.
The most unbelievable part is they are also giving us money back to use toward the visas and safaries we plan to go to. Very exciting indeed.
We will submit questions this week and have a conference call with Royal Caribbean and vote, all in the next 10 days.
