Today we were celebrated with a major milestone in Cruising news! There a different levels of recognition with Royal Caribbean in regard to frequent cruisers. It starts at Gold after your very first cruise. The next levels are Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus and then the very top, Pinnacle. This is the status everyone wants to be. Well, we finally made it. It’s an exciting point as we get lots more perks and a free 7 day cruise! Chuck is more excited about the free internet for both of us!
We are recognized in a ceremony with a bottle of champagne and a picture with the captain. We also received these nice gold pins with our name on them. It’s the most recognizable factor of being pinnacle.
Some people abuse the privilege, assuming they are royalty. Others, like us, know one will probably k is unless they see us at one of the events. We will definitely take advantage of the perks but not the notoriety.
That evening our friends joined us for dinner at Chops Steakhouse and we had a pineapple cake afterwards to celebrate.
Apparently in the early years of the crown and anchor program, some of the crew, whose English wasn’t very well thought they were saying pineapple instead of pinnacle so the nickname stuck.
We are excited and relieved it’s finally here. I have been working on it for the last 2 years with more cruises than home stays because we were so close. And we finally made it.

Chuck & Lea Ann! Tammy Bellusci here. I had been thoroughly enjoying your travels in December and January, but then life got in the way so I wasn’t able to catch up until today 3/30. I was especially moved by 2/6 celebrating your Pinnacle Club Membership… how exciting! When I see “Dunedin” on your door décor and your Pinnacle Club welcome sign, I feel as though I am travelling right along with you. Thank you for your travel log of pictures and writings. So far, Bay of Islands New Zealand takes the cake for me… the Lolly Cake, that is. Have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday celebration tomorrow. Jesus is Risen!!
