It fit! barely….

Mid March will be heading into Asian territory after spending time down Under!

Just finished all packing to see if everything we have to take on this amazing adventure will fit. I used vacuum bags for some items, like all my crochet yarn, to minimize the size in the suitcase. I was amazed at how much more I could pack. I haven’t tried to pick them up yet. Dare I weigh them?

We ended up with:

  • 2 oversized large suitcases
  • 1 large suitcase
  • 2 medium suitcases
  • 1 roller carry-ons
  • 2 military duffles
  • 1 backpack
  • 1 small carryon duffle

The oversized suitcases will be stored by Royal Caribbean somewhere on the ship. A large suitcase will be open and used as a drawer under the bed for the winter wear. The two mediums will have the small ones nested and under the bed. The two green duffles will have extra items such as shampoo, deoderant and toothpaste inside and stored under bed. I measured the bed frame to make sure it would all fit underneath. Sure hope I’m right!

A portion of our real packing list. The entire list is over 350 lines. 😬

We have family coming next week so had to clear out the room or he wouldn’t have a place to sleep. The week after is Thanksgiving and the following week we have more family visiting. So, most of my packing and organizing had to be done sooner rather than later. But I can’t lie, it feels pretty good. Very stressful getting it done but wow, what a relief to be 95% done!

We will keep the hanging clothes in the closet until time to load the suitcases into our car. Trying to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

Veterans Day celebrated at my granddaughters school. My son served in the Navy.

In reading this I began thinking back to our travels that were abruptly cut short by Covid. It was so much easier back then. 3 suitcases and two backpacks. Everything we owned!

Time to relax for a day and get back to some paperwork. I’ve creating binders full of our excursions. I will be going through them to make sure we have everything necessary such as visas, local currency, any special instructions for that days excursion, etc. this is the tedious part.

I’m sure we will see so many different animals. Can’t wait to see all the different variations. We get lots of visits from squirrel’s.

Enough for one day! Hopefully no more packing posts! 🤦🏻‍♀️

May God bless you always!
