60 degrees and 90-100% chance of rain! This is how our day started.

Our excursion today should have been a cable car over the city. After a short ride to the old town we were told due to rain we wouldn’t be on the cable car but walking around town. Keep in mind it’s pouring down rain. However, it did let up in some spots so we were able to sneak a few photos in. Not a lost cause but would probably have been more educational without the rain.

Many people may recognize the castle as a major fixture in the Game of Thrones. This is a popular filming location They certainly had enough memorabilia to purchase in that regard.

Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its well-preserved medieval architecture and its important role in the history of the Mediterranean region. The city was founded in the 7th century and became a major trading center during the Middle Ages. It was also a powerful maritime republic, and its navy played a significant role in the Crusades.

The city is surrounded by ancient walls, and the streets are lined with charming shops and restaurants. There are also plenty of historical landmarks to explore, such as the Sponza Palace and the Rector’s Palace. We hope to see see them on our next trip.

And what better place than to be situated on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. There are stunning views of the water from just about anywhere in the city. Sitting here on a beautiful day I am sure would have been even more mesmerizing.

After escaping inside for a break during the rain we picked up a few trinkets to add to my collection while Chuck paid €2 to use the toilet.

After seeing a few sights we had enough. Our feet were wet and this made up tour was just not what we wish to see in the rain. Our tour wasn’t scheduled to return for another 2 hours so we ditched it and found a taxi. We did enjoy our conversation with the taxi driver. He was a native and very intelligent.

Back at the ship we changed into some dry clothes and caught a movie in the theater.
Not a total lost, we did learn something and were able to take a few photos in between rain showers. Croatia is a beautiful place. We will be here again next year and will be walking the walls with our friends “The Sweetmans” Definitely looking forward to it.
May God bless you always!
