Our experience on this ship hasn’t been very positive but it’s getting better. Chuck started out sick. After 4-5 days of non stop coughing, He finally gave up and went to the ship doctor because he was afraid he might have pneumonia. If anyone’s ever been on a ship and sick, you’ll know that the cost is ridiculous. $200 later he walked out with a z-pac and some cough syrup for bronchitis. He feels much better so it was worth it. Although , we already had a z-pac in our luggage. Oh well, we still have a spare for the future.

The room we had on the first cruise was directly on top of a dance and music venue and it didn’t stop until after midnight to 1 am. The floor was vibrating! We typically don’t go to sleep until midnight so we sucked it up for about 6 days. After chuck started feeling better the noise started aggravating us both. I’m an extremely light sleeper so it was particularly difficult for me. We talked to guest services and they said they would look into it. He also offered me ear plugs. Mistake! They came to our room and agreed the noise was too much. Since we were staying for the next cruise we asked for a room that we could stay in so we wouldn’t have to pack and unpack twice. They didn’t have one. They did however, give us a room to sleep in at night and stay in our room during the day. The manager is now involved. He was really nice and tried to be accommodating. The problem is its Christmas week and they are booked solid. They gave another room for cruise 2 and when we walked in, it was smaller, more like a closet. Check called the manager directly and said not acceptable. That evening we ended up in a very nice balcony with lots of apologies abs dinner for 2 in one of the upscale restaurants. It’s been very nice and Royal did a great job under the circumstances. We are still loyal to Royal!

May god bless you always.
