How disappointing to miss out on an amazing cruise of 12 nights in Iceland and Ireland but God has his reasons and we will now try to see how long we have to quarantine before we leave Amsterdam. Cruise has been canceled. We should receive 100% of our cruise fare and the $800 in excursions we paid for as well. Royal Caribbean is great to work with. Of course it will take us about 45 days to get our money back and by then we will be on another cruise with them. We are having to move to a different hotel because this one is booked for the weekend.
We will move to Hampton Inn closer to the airport and the train/metro so we can get around. We are feeling better so we hope after we move tomorrow we should be able to go out and explore some. We have made our trips out of the hotel room and congregating around people very minimal. The cost of the hotel has increased two-fold however our insurance that we decided to purchase for this trip (thankfully) will pick up those fees for quarantine and the change in our airfare. It should also cover our meals until we can leave here. We bought more self tests and will test again on Saturday night. If we are negative, we’ll reschedule our flight for Monday. This particular airline only flies on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays so we are within their confines of scheduling. So, for now, it’s a waiting game. I’ll do more research to see what it will take to get home.
