It finally happened…

Ugghh… Positive. 😡

We knew it wasn’t a matter of if but rather when we would get sick. And just when we thought we were going to be lucky enough to keep running from this crazy virus, we catch it while on this trip. We are pretty sure we were infected on the cruise. We started feeling allergy like symptoms the day before we started packing to leave the cruise ship. Nothing unusual for Chuck so we pretty much ignored it. With all the cruises we have been taking since June, we haven’t taken many excursions or bus trips with loads of people. Until this trip.

Even smaller than a smart car!. Look how narrow!

With the mask policy disappearing, most people were freely not wearing masks, including us. We did wear them on the airplane trips. We are pretty confident it was on the cruise. We thought our exhaustion was just from that horrific day of travel from Copenhagen to Amsterdam. But, it appears we probably wouldn’t have had such a bad day if we were healthy. We walked to a pharmacy the day after we arrived in Amsterdam and picked up some self tests and something for congestion. Of course nothing is in English on paper although the pharmacist spoke very good english.

You stick your hands in here to sanitize them before handling the cart?

We are both improving, symptoms of a bad cold. His major complaint has been congestion in his head. Constantly blowing his nose and coughing. For me, I’ve had fever and coughing so much it hurts and I feel wiped out. I told Chuck it would be great to have some Tamiflu, that it would probably ease the symptoms.

Cute shopping mall

We have been cooped up in the hotel for 3 days now. We are scheduled to leave here on the cruise on Friday. I’m am pretty sure that wont be happening. We will know more tomorrow after we take the proctored exams we purchased specifically for the cruise line. So it all hinges on tomorrow. It helps to not feel well so we aren’t too concerned about what happens yet. If the test is negative, we are going on a cruise! If not, we’ll deal with it tomorrow. 😢

Nothing else can make you feel better than ice cream!

May God bless you and keep you safe!
