Let The Adventures Begin!

Dinner after the rehearsal at The Oasis on Lake Travis
David and Lindsey look so happy!

Today we start our next adventure! The wedding is complete and was so very beautiful. My son was beaming and when they announced them husband and wife, Lindsey was so giddy! This warms my heart to see both so happy.

The wedding venue, Hudson Bend Ranch was just beautiful with bluebonnets, cactus and believe it or not, snakes and tarantulas running around.

We got up at 6 am to drive to the Austin airport. Dropped off the car and jumped on the plane. We had a 4-hour stopover in Charlotte and then our last leg to New Jersey.  We are still in a pandemic, even though it doesn’t feel like it right now.

Almost set up and ready to go!

Masks have been lifted virtually everywhere including the airports, terminals, and cruise ships. The masks are optional. We didn’t wear them in the terminal although we decided due to the poor circulation on the airlines, we will continue to wear the masks during this part of the trip.

Cutest decorations!

Due to the pandemic the hotel didn’t have a shuttle from the airport or to the cruise port as was advertised on their website. I didn’t do my homework (totally unlike me) and we had to pay $65 for an 8-mile trip to the hotel. That was a shocker, but what can we do? We had to get to the hotel.

Ava Lea – Davids Daughter

Mallory – Lindseys sister

We had such a long layover that we had a big lunch, so we didn’t eat at the hotel. Just snacked on some chips that David and Lindsey gave us during our stay. I worked on getting all the videos and pictures off our phones and onto a shared site for David and Lindsey so they could experience their special day from a different viewpoint.

The wedding planners, Linda and her assistant Debbie were amazing.

Practicing for the special day!

We couldn’t wait to get to bed and crash for the night and was finally able to around 1 am. Chucks hip was hurting, and my toes were numb from the heels I was wearing at the wedding. We loved every minute of the wedding and all it entailed but since it’s my first wedding as mother of the groom, I am beat! However, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I was thrilled to see my son so happy.

Tomorrow, we board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas and head to Southampton, England stopping in the Azores, Cherbourg and Le Havre (Paris), France before arriving in England on May 13th, 11 days later. I’m not sure how many pictures I’ll have on this trip since 7 out of the 11 days are at sea! I’ll post photos of the ship and the entertainment. I am sure it will be amazing. Just a little worried about the weather. Good thing we packed a lot of warm clothes!

May God bless and keep you safe always!
