Milford Sound/Doubtful Sound/Dusky Sound New Zealand part 2

Entering Thompson Sound, the rain was taking a break.

We counted 5 dolphin playing outside the ship

Now, 2 hours later we enter Thompson Sound and exit out of Doubtful Sound. More mountains and more dolphins here.

Horrible, grainy picture but at least I captured the dolphins jumping. How fun!

We believe the dolphins in Thompson sound were dusky dolphins. It was so calm and quiet here. The last portion of the trip was through Breaksea and out Dusky Sound.

It was pouring rain and cold for about ½ the trip.  We tried to go out to the helipad where we had been taking photo’s earlier, but the wind was blowing the rain so bad, no one was out there. So, I tried to take photos underneath covered areas of the ship that I could see the best and when the rain would let up in some places.

More waterfalls. This begins our trip into Dusky Sound. Lots of Rain

I had to continually wipe the rain from my camera lens. If you’ll look close at the photo of the sea lions, you’ll see the sheets of rain.

Took this through a porthole on the ship.

It was a beautiful trip and well worth the time standing in the rain. We didn’t see any Kakapa, the world’s largest and only flightless parrot or little blue penguins, but we saw more than we thought we ever would.

My favorite!

We were exhausted by the end of the day, but we would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you God for such an amazing experience!

New Zealand Fur Seals. Look at that rain!

As we left the park, we were finally out of the rain!

Now we are headed to Dunedin, New Zealand. If you weren’t aware, we lived in Dunedin, Florida for about 9 months before we took off on our adventure. We are excited to see this little town. Sorry for the overload in photos but hard to decide what NOT to post for this amazing experience.

May God bless you always!
