Bahrain

The Bahrain flag is red and white while the Qatar is Maroon and white. Both are similar in design.

Well, Christmas has come and gone for another year. Our next Christmas will be in the next decade. David always told me there was nothing to Bahrain and that we probably wouldn’t care for it. He spent a few years there while serving in the Navy. He was right. There just wasn’t much to it so we didn’t venture far. They were charging $20 USD per person to give us a ride by shuttle bus to the main city square.

It amazes me how these labels are so large but people just ignore them

What irked me was they always drop you off at the sales areas so that you can spend money, yet they want to charge you a fortune to get there. It was a 45 minute ride to town from where we were docked so it wasn’t exactly a quick trip, another reason why we decided to stay close.

We walked over to the immigration port and looked around the small, parse shopping area.

I picked up my key chain, took a few picture and we went back on the ship. We weren’t allowed to walk around the pier any so it was a quick trip.

We opted to go to the movies on the ship for entertainment. We watched the Polar express. I have seen it before and still loved it. I love the magic that Christmas brings. Chuck hadn’t seen it and I was very surprised and proud he didn’t fall asleep! He’s not much into Christmas shows and especially animated ones.

You can buy the headdress and long dress for men. Didn’t see any for women.

After dinner we attended a 1 man Motown show. This guy really had some energy and was a powerful singer. Apparently he has played for Michael Jackson and Bill Clinton. We wont hold that against him! 😁. It was cool outside so we spent most of the day reading and relaxing inside and after the entertainment back to the room to prepare for the next day.

We are arriving at Sir Bani Yas Island tomorrow morning. Its a small island close to Abu Dhabi designed just for cruise ship passengers to use. Last week we missed this spot due to weather. Captain is pretty confident we’ll make it this time. We’ll see in the morning! We’ll that’s pretty much it. Slow day.

May God bless you always!
