Our long hike today was to the Queens Valley Reservoir. Rain water is their main source of water. It collects in the reservoir. There are multiple reservoir’s all over the island to collect the water.

If they are in short supply of water, they have a desalination plant that takes the sea water and removes the salt and makes it safe to drink. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time to use this method.

The water goes through a treatment plant and is tested multiple times before reaching the customers homes. The water here tastes good and is very safe to drink.

Our walk started out a little steep with about 10 flights of steps but once we arrived at the reservoir, it was a dirt, sometimes a little rocky, path around the entire reservoir.

It was a nice, peaceful stroll through shaded areas. If we wanted to cut the walk short, there was a barrage that you could walk across. We just kept walking.

We walked by a WWII sub station. We thought it was a pigeon house! It was so full of them. The Germans were only here 5 years but they sure left a lot of stuff!

We finally saw some Jersey cows. They were too far away to here me calling them so we just took a picture and moved on. Most of the land here has electric fencing if they have animals so we steer clear.

| La Pompe. I think this is the name of the house but I thought the little pump made it all come together |
We started thinking about places we have lived so far and we have been by the ocean, lived in a marina and now out in the country as well as on an island. Our next visit to London should be in the city. We can’t say we are not putting variety into our travels!
Enjoy your day! May God bless you always!
