We have been settling in to our new place and getting acclimated to the differences. The most I find that is difficult is “where is the bathroom” at 2 am in the morning. Each place it is different. We brought some small nightlights to help when we are somewhere new. I don’t like to sleep with lights on anywhere. It’s distracting and keeps me awake.
From where we are staying, the road overlooks this beautiful countryside. Mont Orgueil Castle in the background.
I need complete silence and complete darkness. Slowly learning I’m not always going to get that. We typically dont go to bed until around midnight so waking up to the daylight of 6 am isnt something I want to do.
We were told that it can take up to 4 hours to get your boat ready and out for a boating trip. All due to the tides.
Because darkness is so late in the evening, 9 – 10 pm, most of our homes have blackout blinds or curtains. Here we have a curtain to close the door off. I haven’t closed it but will probably do that tonight. I don’t mind getting up early if I need to but if its not required, I need my “beauty sleep” as they say!
These narrow roads also have interesting shaped trees that form a path
We walked for a few hours yesterday down to another castle. It is on our list to visit, just not yet. However the water, pier, rock and gardens around the castle are a nice area to visit.
The homes here are so neat, clean and beautiful. All have rock walls as “fencing”
We really enjoy our walks. Safer than driving for sure! Our host left us a list of several scenic walking paths to go on that we will choose from today.
Need a haircut? Haven’t seen one in a van before!
We have several excursions planned throughout the month so we will be somewhat busy but right now we are just kind of relaxing and enjoying the countryside.
This was in the bathrooms. Hold your hand under the middle and it squirts soap, then water and then the dryer comes on.
Tomorrow is another day and another adventure. May God bless you always!
