France Budget Totals, St. Brelades Beach

St. Brelades Beach

Finally have the budget vs. spent totals for France. I’m so excited that we only spent $105 USD over budget. This is great! No emergencies to deal with this trip.

We truly enjoyed France as much as Spain. Now that we are in Jersey, Channel Islands, it’s a new world.

We are beginning to believe this journey we are on is going to be so different at each destination that we most definitely won’t be getting bored. So much adventure on this little 5 mile (8 km) long and 9 mile (14.5 km) wide island (45 square miles) made up of 12 parishes.

Warthog statues look like they are running through the water

It’s hard to believe there are so many parishes/counties on this little island. Henrico County (where we lived in Richmond,Virginia) is 245 square miles!

Small pond on the property

We drove to one of the best beaches on the island, St. Brelades bay. The white beach and crystal clear water was so inviting.

The crocodile or alligator is keeping an eye on the pond. No worries, not real. I wonder if they even have those around here? I doubt it

We’ll definitely make it back for a day of sun and sand! There were plenty of restaurants and a couple of hotels lining the boardwalk.

This dolphin statue decorated the front of the hotel

Many options for water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking and with the many cliffs, snorkeling was available as well.

Beach wasn’t very full but those that were out were enjoying it
We parked our car at a grocery store not realizing we weren’t as close to the beach as we thought so we walked a few miles on an incline to get to the beach. When we arrived at the beach, we realized it was pretty easy but then thought about having to walk back uphill.

Many, many rocky areas around the island. They are beautiful near the water

We took many breaks! During our walk we came upon an absolutely beautiful piece of property. It had beautiful flowers, huge landscaped lawn and some animal statues around the place. I loved this place!

Waterfall centerpiece in the middle of the small park
This island is packed full of beautiful flowers all over the place. We figure its probably the climate or just this time of year but they are so beautiful and the island smells so good because of it.

The park was full of flowers
We ran into some horses on our walk today but we couldn’t get them to come close for petting. We did find out there is a race course on the island. We may check it out before we leave.

More beautiful flowers
We went back to the Corbiere lighthouse to try for a sunset photo. I’ll post those tomorrow.
The horses were grazing.

These two were together last night but separated today. Must have gotten into some mischief!
May God bless you always!
