Corbiere Lighthouse, iphone, prescription drugs

Corbiere Lighthouse
Had my doctors appointment today to discuss my prescription refill. To have this one prescription filled in the US, its about $30 USD for 90 days without insurance but because it is a controlled substance I couldn’t get more than a 90 day supply before we left the states. Two other meds were filled for 365 days before we left the states. A second drug I chose not to fill was for hormone replacement therapy.

For a 90 days supply it would cost me over $400 USD in the US. In Canada we can get it filled for about $40 USD so we choose to send that prescription to Canada. The problem with traveling and purchasing from Canada is we would need it shipped to the location we are residing and since it is a drug, the risk is it will be held up in customs. The particular drug from Canada was filled and shipped from London, England. Sooooo, we called the pharmacy and asked if it is being shipped from London, can we pick it up or have it shipped to a London address. After a few phone calls we were able to come to that resolution. We’ll still fill it as US Citizens but have it filled and shipped to London.

The ripple in the clouds. Is that not amazing?

While I was at the doctors office obtaining a prescription refill for the one controlled substance drug, which cost me about 45 pounds, I asked about the HRT drug and he called the pharmacy and they had what I needed so he gave me a 90 day prescription, actually 84 pills because thats how they are packaged here. When we talked to the chemist, I asked how much for the Premarin (HRT drug) and she said 9 pounds. I said for 90 days? Are you sure? She said yes and I’m like, really? She must have thought I was crazy. I told her I could probably buy 1 pill for that price in the US. If we bought the two drugs in the US before we left, the cost would have been $440 for 3 months (approximately). Here, it cost me $55 pounds/$69 USD plus 60 pounds/$75 USD for the doctor visit. $144 for 3 month supply vs. $440, not including the doctor visit. I’ll take it!

Looking down over St. Aubin’s Bay

We took a short walk towards town but only walked a mile downhill because we had to walk a mile back up. The incline was pretty steep. My thighs were burning! But well worth it. We enjoyed the walk.

These narrow streets! This is a two way. During our walk we saw a few pieces of busted taillight on the roadway. Glad we’re not the only ones that get too close to the wall!
I wanted to get a sunset over the Corbiere lighthouse, one of many on the island, but after watching the haze settle in and the sun hiding behind the clouds we knew it wasnt going to happen. However, we did drive down to the lighthouse to check it out.

The homes do not have house numbers, they are named.

Only, I forgot my camera so all of these photos on this post today are from my iPhone. They’re not bad. It was the most peaceful, beautiful and romantic place. Only God could create something this beautiful.

Found the White House! 😂

There are benches to sit around the rocks so we sat for awhile. We are going back, hopefully when the sun will cooperate more. I love the beach but I believe this was more beautiful than the beach. At least today it was.

In 1995 a French Catamaran was sailing from Jersey to Sark when weather suddenly turned for the worse. By the grace of God all 307 passengers were rescued. This memorial was erected in thanksgiving and a tribute to that rescue.

This island is beautiful and peaceful. A small piece of paradise!

May God bless you always!
