Paris Weather and preparing for next destination

Watched the last of the races today. This is when they were coming into the harbour.
Got a message from Susan, my sister in law, who received a message from a friend in France that a front moving across the Sahara will bring scorching heat. Here in Deauville, we are right on the ocean so we stay pretty cool. Its in the 70’s today. Pretty comfortable. We dont have air conditioning but we do have a couple of fans if necessary. The day we booked our train to Paris is Thursday and the weatherman said 100 degrees Fahrenheit/38 Celsius that day and a very high UV index. OUCH! With us walking and riding trains the entire trip, we decided to find a different day to go. The lowest temperatures will be on Tuesday at 95F/32C so we changed our tickets. I don’t know if 5 degrees will make a difference by we’ll take what we can get. Lots of water and sunblock!!

The sailing team coming in through the canal.

In a little under 2 weeks, we will be leaving for Jersey Island. It is a small island just off of France but is a part of the U.K. We chose Jersey because its not a part of the European Schengen zone. We can only stay 90 days in Europe in any of the countries that are part of this union. Jersey, United Kingdom and Morocco are the places we chose outside the union to fill space in our itinerary. We have a cruise leaving Rome to Dubai in November and we didn’t want a  costly flight from Europe to another country not so close by so we chose to stay in these 3 destinations. We are excited about moving to another destination to explore. The best part is for the next 3 months we’ll be in english speaking countries so the kitchens and TV’s should be easier to communicate with!

We crossed paths with some cows at their watering hole

We received an exciting phone call today. Our granddaughter is expecting her first child. We are so excited and happy for her. The disappointing news is the baby is due in January and we wont be back in the states until May. We wont get to meet the baby until he/she is 4 months old! That will be tough! I’m sure we can depend on our granddaughter to keep us updated but theres nothing more amazing than holding that sweet baby in your arms after its born.  This will be our 3rd great grandchild. We are beyond thrilled!

I think they need a bath!

Its been a cool and blustery day so we watched the sailers end their race and then we retired back to our apartment to read and watch a little Netflix. Tomorrow it should be in the 80’s. We would like to go to the beach so we hope the cold wind dies down so we can enjoy the day!

May God bless you always!
