| Sailboat racing! |
The weather is trying to warm up a little. We are really looking forward to the weekend when it should FINALLY be in the high 70’s to low 80’s. Only the rain stops us from wandering about since we don’t have a car. We try to walk every day and so far we are up to 3 miles a day. My ankle still isnt happy about it but I just prop it up in the evenings until the swelling goes down. By the next day, I’m ready for another go at it! Surely it will heal at some point?
There are two sporting events this weekend. One is a triathlon. we are curious as to how that’s going to work but all the roads are being blocked off so we’ll try to get out and be nosey on Saturday. There is also a sailboat competition called Linkers International Dragon Open. Dragon is the type of sailboat. Small, sleek and fast!

The race is for 3 days but I don’t have a clue how it works. Theres not much information about the race itself online. Chuck said it was like watching paint dry!

The Linkers French Open Dragon is one of the major European events each year with great international champions from all over Europe to challenge the crews of the most prestigious French sailing clubs. It is held here in Deauville and there is definitely enough wind to sail any time you want.
There are three men/women for each keelboat. The Dragon was designed in the late 1920s. It quickly established itself as an ideal boat to sail in competitions and became the official keelboat of the Olympic Games in 1948.
We enjoyed watching them while sitting on the beach but I think Chuck would probably have taken a nap if we had our chairs with us!
May God bless you all!
