When we realized how many stops we would be making before we finally climb aboard that ship, we were amazed that we would be sleeping in 6 different beds before leaving on our journey. Since leaving Florida, we have been to Richmond and Bedford Virginia, Bessemer, Alabama (for the night), Longview, Texas and we are now in Fort Worth. In a couple of days we’ll leave for Cypress, Texas and on 4/19, just 5 days away from stepping aboard that ship for our journey. It’s so hard to imagine how we made this decision back in 2017 after meeting other travelers on a transpacific cruise. We fell in love with the idea and talked and planned and talked som more and now here we are, 2 years later, almost to the same month as we left on the transpacific cruise, we will be leaving on our long journey around the world. 

Today we will spend more time with family. My sweet granddaughter Ava Lea kept us entertained last night.

We will have more children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters over today, soaking up as much family time as possible. Making memories and trying not to get caught up in how much we will miss them. 

I remember spending many Sundays at my parents house after church eating fried chicken or dr. pepper ham. My mom was an amazing cook and with such a large family, she could stretch food like it multiplied. She always said God will provide and He always did. I loved my mom’s faith as she kept us in church and tried to keep us all on the straight path of life. Of course we all got in to some type of trouble with school or home but thats all a part of growing up and learning our way. I’ll always remember and be thankful for those family gatherings on Sundays.
