The countdown begins, the last visits with family

Final Florida sunset before we left.

Quite a bit has happened over the last few weeks. We left Florida and those beautiful sunsets behind to begin our journey of a lifetime. We hope to return someday, although it may be sunrises we will see and not sunsets. We really loved Florida but found that the east side was much more beautiful than the west although either one would be ideal retirement areas. Thats some time down  the road so we’ll worry about that later.  I retired on April 5th. What an amazing feeling that was! I cant say I’ll never work again, but my plan is to never return to the workforce unless absolutely necessary. All my wonderful coworkers had lunch with me. It was very sweet, and I appreciated the time to interact and say goodbye to everyone. In the 17 years we were in Richmond, I only worked at 2 companies. I was talked into leaving Hunton & Williams by a vendor we worked with and I regretted it immediately. It took me almost a year to get back and I never looked back. I put all my heart into the company after that and I feel a little sad to leave all the working relationships developed along the way, but they too will be moving on some day. I wish everyone there the best and I am grateful for all the knowledge and lessons learned over the years. Next stop – Virginia to spend time with Chucks dad, Charlie.
Chuck & his Dad, Charlie out for a walk.
His brother Rick and wife Mary were there as well. They have two rescue Schnauzers that are the sweetest. Although, Bandit got into trouble a lot. Typical boy! He is Charlies buddy. Sophie was a sweet girl.

We had lunch with all of Chucks cousins, dad and uncle. We had the greatest visit reminiscing and catching up. Thank you Rick & Mary for setting this up. We loved seeing everyone once again before we leave.
All the Reynolds gang!
Rick and Mary also made dinner and a cake for my birthday! Very sweet! It was great spending time as a family one last evening. It’ll be sad not to see everyone for a little over a year.
Birthday dinner! Yum!
We are now in Longview, Texas at my brothers house. Its always a joy to spend time here. Two more family stops through Texas before we leave on April 19th, just 9 more days. It’s hard to believe this time last year, we were in the midst of selling our house as part of this plan to live as nomads for 5 years. It seems so long ago. We now have no house, will soon have no cars, our storage unit is only 5 x 15 and has all our worldly possessions locked up except for what is in our 4 suitcases and two backpacks. What a crazy thought. We are actually doing this!

As we start our travels, we’ll be able to put more exciting photos to view so bear with us. SOON!!

May God bless you always!

Chuck & Lea Ann
