Just Passing time….

Dunedin, Florida

As we sit here admiring the amazing Florida sunset, we realize we must enjoy every minute of every day, one day at a time. Life is too short not to allow yourself that luxury. Since my last post, we haven’t had too much to do, just waiting and counting the days. I am 43 days from retirement and only 57 days until we leave to explore the world. We are under the 2 month mark! YIPPEE!  The countdown will get faster now as we start finalizing our packing or slower depending on how you look at it. I choose to think it will go fast! Next on our list is to start reviewing our checklist to make sure we have prepared as much as we can. I am sure something will get left off but it’ll all work out. March will be very busy for us. We’ll purchase our international and travel insurance, finalize packing for travel, pack up what needs to go into storage (not much), we both bought new, lighter sneakers since every ounce/pound has to be counted and a second pair of prescription glasses just in case one pair gets lost. Let’s hope not!

This past month, although not much to do in preparing for the trip, wasn’t exactly uneventful. My sweet dear mother in law (Chucks stepmom) Josephine, went to that beautiful Kingdom in Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will all miss her dearly but have peace in knowing she is no longer suffering and is in complete  peace. She was so loved by everyone she met and brought such joy into every room she walked in. I’ll always remember our birthdays that we shared together. She always made them special.

On the same day, one of our friends that introduced us to this exciting world of travel had a triple bypass surgery. Thankfully she is doing well and recovering in South Africa. I cant imagine having to undergo a major surgery in a foreign country but as it turns out, South Africa was the first to perform a successful heart transplant so we know she was in good hands!  Jess loves South Africa so much she didn’t want to leave, although I don’t think this is what she had in mind for an extended stay. If you want to see some amazing photos and adventures take a look at her blog. Its full of wonderful adventures, stunning and unbelievable photos as well as some very useful information that has been our guide on this journey. You wont be disappointed. http://worldwidewaftage.com

Next week we will visit Texas to go over our taxes with the “tax guy” and see how we will handle our governmental obligations while traveling abroad. I don’t foresee it being an issue. It is a good excuse to visit Texas and family.

We added a few more trips in 2020. St. Croix, a Panama Canal Cruise, Brazil and Baja Mexico. I’ll post the updated itinerary soon.

May God bless you all!
