Time is flying! Itinerary for the first year

Time is flying by! Spring, well really Summer is finally here. I didn’t think winter would ever leave. We thought spring was being held hostage somewhere! Our last snow was in April. The best news is our house is sold! We close on June 1. We will live in a hotel until the 12th. We leave for our Alaskan cruise (meeting my two brothers and sister in laws there). We’ll be back on the June 26th and then we are off to Florida on June 29th!!

A sign that Spring is finally here!

We have been busy selling furniture and anything thats not nailed down. It’s very overwhelming to see all of your possessions practically given away. And in some cases they were given away. We are so fortunate in so many ways that we will gladly give to someone in need. But it is difficult to let go. All the pictures are off the wall and packed and much of the furniture is gone that we allowed to leave. Mostly friends bought our furniture and they were gracious enough to let us keep it until we move so we don’t have to sleep on the floor. 🙂

We have most of the final adjustments made to our itinerary. We leave April 2019 and won’t return to the United States until May 2020. Its unbelievable! Below is our schedule. Its sooo exciting!

Just the beginning of our around the world tour.

We have so much to do before leaving. I’m sure it will take the next 10 1/2 months to get ready to leave. We have to look at insurance, both travel and health. Chuck will have some coverage from Medicare but I wont be eligible for a few years. There are a few international travel insurance companies out there. More research! We need to book cruises, flights and apartment rentals. We need to figure out phones and ways to communicate back home. Skype will probably be the way to go. Another item to research. See what I mean? I’m pretty organized but this may do me in. 😅

Its really crazy to think how we are able to physically and financially do this. I talk about how blessed we are and will continue to do so. We would not be able to do this without God on our side. I was able to talk to someone at church today about downloading Pastor Robs sermons. I hope to visit many churches during our travels but I’m afraid some of them wont be english speaking. Chuck and I both enjoy Pastor Robs sermons so we will be able to download them along the way and enjoy them while on our travels. We will miss so many of our friends at New Bridge Baptist Church. My faith has grown in so many ways while a member here. Leaving family saddens me as well. Our first plans before we decided on this adventure was to move to Texas to be close to our family. Our long term travel plan is 5 years unless we just cant see everything we want to in that timeframe. Then we will be able to move closer. I will always keep that in mind.

Until next time! May God bless you all!

Lea Ann and Chuck
